InstrumenTO-DCA emerged in response to the needs identified by healthcare professionals. Specifically, in the field of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) intervention, significant challenges are evident, especially regarding the assessment of manipulative skills and cognitive functions.

Project OBJECTIVES

Given the need for tools that guarantee a professional practice based on scientific evidence, the objectives of the InstrumentTO-DCA Project are:

Translate

Translate the manual dexterity, cognitive and functional assessment tools for acquired brain injury for use in Spain.

Fit

____________________________

To adapt cross-culturally the assessment tools for manual dexterity, cognitive and functional aspects of acquired brain injury for use in Spain.

Z

Validate

____________________________

To evaluate the psychometric properties of manual dexterity, cognitive, and functional assessment tools in acquired brain injury for use in Spain.

Project TOOLS

Currently, the InstrumenTO-DCA project focuses on translating, adapting and/or validating the following tools in the Spanish population with acquired brain injury (ABI):

3D TECHNOLOGY of the Project

Furthermore, the aim is to explore the feasibility of printing instruments with 3D technology, evaluating whether the new creation process affects the measurement.

This initiative not only seeks to improve the assessment of acquired brain injury in Spain, but also to introduce innovations to enrich occupational therapy practices.
