The Occupational Balance Questionnaire (OBQ) is a questionnaire in which a person evaluates their occupational balance in relation to their current situation and daily life. The questionnaire uses 13 affirmations that explore the balance between different types of activities, meaning, the use of time and satisfaction related to these activities and the time employed in them. It is scored using a six point response scale (from 0 to 5) by the level of agreement with each of the affirmations. Answers range from “completely disagree” (equivalent of 0) to “completely agree” (equivalent of 5). Thus, it is possible to obtain a final score that ranges from 0 to 65, where a greater score indicates a greater OB.
This tool was designed by Wagman and Håkansson in 2014. It has been adapted to Spanish and validated among occupational therapy university students by Peral-Gomez and colleagues.
