In the field of Mental Health, it is imperative that professionals have assessment tools that allow them to comprehensively address the needs and capabilities of the people being assessed.
In this sense, it is essential to identify both the existing skills and limitations, as well as to understand the specific aspirations and needs of each individual.
To achieve these objectives, there is a need for appropriate assessment tools specifically designed for the mental health context.
These instruments not only serve as diagnostic tools, but are also fundamental to establishing concrete intervention goals and designing treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Project OBJECTIVES
Given the need for tools that guarantee a professional practice based on scientific evidence, the objectives of the InstrumentTO-SM Project are:
Translate
Translating Occupational Therapy assessment tools for people with mental health problems in Spain.
Fit
Transcultural adaptation of Occupational Therapy assessment tools for people with mental health problems in Spain.
Validate
To evaluate the psychometric properties of tools in people with mental health problems in Spain.
Project TOOLS
Currently, the InstrumenTO-SM project has two fundamental objectives: the cross-cultural adaptation to the Spanish context of the Instrument for the Assessment of Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities (VAVDI) and to evaluate the psychometric properties of the VAVDI, together with the Support Intensity Scale (SIS) and the Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB-E).
VAVDI
