OXFORD COGNITIVE SCREEN <\/strong>(OCS)<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Oxford Cognitive Screen (OCS)<\/strong> is a test designed specifically to rapidly evaluate cognitive alterations in patients with stroke. It\u2019s principal advantage is that it permits the evaluation of patients with aphasia and negligence. <\/p>\n

Also, with the objective of controlling the motor deficit in superior limbs, a frequent symptom of stroke, all of the area of the test can be carried out with one hand.<\/p>\n

This test assesses five general cognitive domains, including language, attention and executive function, numeracy, praxis, and memory.<\/p>\n

Consists of 10 tasks or subtests: picture naming, semantics, orientation, visual field, sentence reading, number writing and calculation, hearts test, gestural imitation, verbal recall and verbal recognition, and executive tasks.<\/p>\n

Moreover, in order to control the overall influence of the upper limb motor deficits fairly frequent after stroke, all the items can be performed using only one hand. This battery can be easily administered at bedside within 15 minutes, provide a general outline as \u201cvisual snapshot\u201d of the patient\u2019s cognitive profile, which allows health professionals to readily make a domain-level interpretation. <\/p>\n

El Oxford Cognitive Screen (OCS)<\/strong>\u00a0es un test dise\u00f1ado espec\u00edficamente para evaluar de forma r\u00e1pida alteraciones cognitivas en pacientes con ictus. Como ventaja principal, permite la evaluaci\u00f3n de pacientes con afasia y negligencia. Adem\u00e1s, con el objetivo de
controlar la influencia del d\u00e9ficit motor en miembros superiores, s\u00edntoma muy frecuente tras un ictus, todas las tareas del test pueden cumplimentarse con una sola mano. Eval\u00faa cinco dominios cognitivos: atenci\u00f3n y funci\u00f3n ejecutiva, lenguaje, memoria,\u00a0procesamiento de n\u00fameros y praxias. Consta de 10 tareas: nombrar im\u00e1genes, categorizaci\u00f3n sem\u00e1ntica, orientaci\u00f3n, campo visual, lectura de frases, escritura de n\u00fameros y c\u00e1lculo, atenci\u00f3n, praxias, memoria y reconocimiento y prueba ejecutiva. Est\u00e1n dise\u00f1adas para poder evaluar a pacientes con afasia y negligencia, tanto aloc\u00e9ntrica como egoc\u00e9ntrica. Para ello, incluye palabras cortas de alta frecuencia, resentaci\u00f3n de las tareas y respuestas de forma multimodal y la alineaci\u00f3n de los \u00edtems es central (reduciendo la necesidad de rastreo visual), lo que facilita focalizar la atenci\u00f3n.<\/p>
