DISABILITY ASSESSMENT FOR DEMENTIA <\/strong>(DAD)<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Disability Assessment For Dementia (DAD)<\/strong> is a test designed to evaluate the ability to carry out daily activities (AVD) in persons with cognitive disorders such as dementia. It is useful to define deficits in cognitive areas that could interfere in the execution of AVD.<\/p>\n

This scale offers the novelty of systematic evaluation for each area of AVD, independently of whether the subject has the capacity to carry it out or not, and even if the subject had it prior and is capable of planning and organization.<\/p>\n

It consists of 40 items that evaluate the functional capacity for the basic activities of daily life (AVDB), instrumental activities of daily life (AVDI) and leisure activities.<\/p>\n

This tool was adapted to Spanish and validated by Sanchez-Perez and colleagues.<\/p>\n

Disability Assessment For Dementia (DAD)<\/strong>\u00a0es un test dise\u00f1ado para evaluar las habilidades en las actividades de la vida diaria (AVD) en personas con trastornos cognitivos tales como demencia y es \u00fatil para definir d\u00e9ficits en \u00e1reas cognitivas que puedan interferir en la ejecuci\u00f3n de las AVD. Esta escala ofrece como novedad la evaluaci\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica en cada AVD, independientemente de que el sujeto tenga capacidad para ejecutarla o no, incluso si previamente tiene iniciativa y si es capaz de planificarla u organizarla. Consta de 40 \u00edtems que eval\u00faan la capacidad funcional en las actividades de la vida diaria b\u00e1sicas (AVDB), actividades de la vida diaria instrumentales (AVDI) y actividades de ocio. Esta herramienta fue adaptado al espa\u00f1ol y validada por S\u00e1nchez-P\u00e9rez y colegas.<\/p>
